Unravelling

gold plaque of Jesus

Jesus,
when you went down to hades to preach to the dead,
did you find Judas?
Did you unravel his guilt like a woman’s hair*
with your silent, deep eyes?
And will we find him in heaven?
And if we do, will we, Simon-like,
be scandalised?
Or will our unravellings greet his
with a holy kiss?
